LAST MONTH MEETING: Our meeting for August meeting was very special as we hosted Robin and Michael Tuohy who shared their 18 year journey of survivor and caregiver. I think we all took away a message of hope and inspiration.
THIS MONTH MEETING TOPIC AND LOCATION:
September is our semi-annual Caregiver Breakout, a chance for the caregivers to have their own discussion, facilitated by Rose Vondrashek and Shawna Ehlers. The myeloma survivors and I will have a separate discussion (with donuts). This is a very well attended meeting so come early so everyone can settled into their space and conversation.
We will meet from 10AM to Noon at the Gift of Life Transplant House, North side, 701 - 2nd Street SW, Rochester, MN. We thank them for providing this space for us to meet each month. Light refreshments will be available, provided by Takeda Oncology. Educational materials will be available, provided by the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF).
The International Myeloma Foundation (IMF at Myeloma.org) will be hosting a one-day, free regional community workshop in Minneapolis on July 21, 2018. Registration is available at myeloma.org/events. There will be myeloma experts providing information on newly diagnosed, relapsed, clinical trials, supportive care; breakfast and lunch provided.
HELPING HANDS - I typically arrive around 9:00/9:15 to arrange chairs, set up food and lay out materials. If anyone is able to plan in advance to assist with set up, please let me know. If you are unable to arrive early, assistance with clean up afterwards is just as helpful.
I hope to see you at the next meeting.
